A MEISSNER speciality is the adiabatic process for the production of Mononitrobenzene. The adiabatic process is characterized by most favourable consumption figures and extremely low by-product formation. This very advantageous process could be improved further by using a new tube-type reactor, which helps to reduce the formation of by-products to even lower limits.

Since 1998, a MEISSNER plant working according to the new process, and with a capacity of 177,000 metric tons per year, is operated  by the Dow Chemical subsidiary BSL in Böhlen, Germany.
